Yemen to partake in 26th meeting of AIMC

SANA'A, March 20 (Saba) - Yemen is to partake in the 26th meeting of
Arab Interior Ministers Council to be stared next Sunday in the
Lebanese capital Beirut.

Upon his leaving on Friday for Beirut, Minister of Interior Mutahar
Rashad al-Masri said to Saba that Yemen would handover the council's
presidency to Lebanon after it presided the 25th round of AIMC,

"The meeting would discuss several subjects out of which is a report
of the council's Secretary-General on implementation of the
recommendations issued by the council's previous round and the
General Secretary's efforts in coordinating with the Technical
Secretary of Arab Justice Ministers Council", al-Masri indicated.

Al-Masri added that the meetings would deal with the outcomes of
committees related to preparing drafts agreements of the security
work such as combating organized crime, money laundering, terrorism
and crimes of computer and corruption as well as reviewing the
efforts exerted by different Arab security sectors during the 25th
round in 2008.

During the meeting, a number of security plans will be approved,
including an Arab security plan, the fourth Arab information plan of
security awareness and protection from crime, as well as the third
phase plan of Arab strategy for traffic safety.

Furthermore, al-Masri noted that he will meet with a number of Arab
delegations' heads to discuss bilateral cooperation aspects in
security field between Yemen and their countries.
