HM King of Bahrain delegates minister in honouring outstanding workers

Manama, Dec. 13 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has delegated Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan to attend the 34th ceremony under the patronage of HM the King, for honouring the outstanding and hard-working Bahraini workers and private establishments. The workers' honouring on Wednesday was part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's Glorious National Day celebrations on December 16 and 17, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern State of Bahrain as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, the 47th anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations, and the 19th anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne. The minister in his speech conveyed the greetings of HM the King, his congratulations and wishes of success for everyone as they contribute in the new phase of national welfare and progress. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the stability of the labour market, and positive cooperation among the three production parties in accelerating the nation’s progress and productivity. Huda Jamal Mansour spoke on behalf of the honourees expressed their pride in being officially honoured under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The annual ceremony reflects the government’s keenness on honouring the outstanding and hard-working citizens who contributed to the national and community progress, she added. The minister presented prizes and recognition certificates to the following categories: 4 prominent pioneers, 4 establishments, 1 SME, 11 managers, 2 supporters of persons with disability, 5 workers with special needs, and 4 freelance workers. Humaidan also honoured 7 workers in the sectors of oil and gas, 14 in manufacturing industries , 8 in transportation and stores, 8 in banking, 8 finance and insurance , 10 in the contracting sector , 20 in trade, 5 in the hospitality & restaurants & hotels , 14 community activists. Also, 5 workers in professions that recently attracted national workforce were also honoured.
