Vietnamese Ambassador receives Lao distinction

Vientiane (VNA) - The Lao State has awarded out-going Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos
Nguyen Huy Quang a Friendship Order for his contributions to the development of
friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, on behalf of the
Lao Government presented the Order to the Vietnamese Ambassador in Vientiane on
March 19.

The Deputy PM took the occasion to highlight strong developments in the Laos-Vietnam
relations in recent years, especially those in investment and trade.

Vietnam over took Thailand and China to become the largest investor in Laos in 2008,
while the two countries bilateral trade is rising towards the target of 1 billion
USD in 2010 and 2 billion USD in 2015.

He expressed his sincere thanks to the Vietnamese Party, State and people for great
assistance to Laos in the past and at present.-Enditem
