Yemen concerns to enhance cooperation with WB, says al-Arhabi



SANA'A, March 18 (Saba)-Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs
and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Kareem
al-Arhabi affirmed on Wednesday concern of the Yemeni government to
enhance cooperation with World Bank (WB) within the regional
strategy for Yemen (2010-2013).

Al-Arhabi highlighted the initiative of the bank to hold several
meetings with civil society organizations, private and government
sectors to discuss a new regional strategy for three coming years.

The director of the bank in Sana'a said that the program of regional
assistance strategy for Yemen based on the third five-plan and
strategy of reducing poverty

He added that the regional strategy aims at supporting efforts of
Yemen to improve its national economy, good governance and efforts
of the Yemeni government in combating corruption as well as its
reform agenda

It is worth mentioning that the WB allocated $ 480 million for
funding projects including in the regional strategy for Yemen during
the period from 2010-2013.
