Japan helps Nam Dinh build schools, rural roads
Hanoi (VNA) - The Japanese Government has decided to provide 167,000 USD to two
communes in the Red river province of Nam Dinh to build a primary school and
rural roads.
The sum was part of a non-refundable aid programme of the Japanese Government for
small-scale projects in Vietnam in the 2009 fiscal year.
The first project worth almost 85,000 USD will be carried out in Minh Thuan commune,
Vu Ban district to build a 1.5km road connecting its villages to facilitate local
daily life and socio-economic development activities.
Meanwhile, Yen Tien commune, Y Yen district will receive 82,000 USD to build a prime
school.
At a ceremony to handover the aid held at the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi on
March 18, Ambassador Mitsuo Sakaba said the Japanese Government was very
interested in small-scale projects for Vietnamese localities.
He added that Vietnam effectively used Japan 's capital sources in small-scale
projects and pledged to help increase projects of this kind for Vietnam in the
coming time.
The Japanese government funds about 300 small-scale projects each year in Vietnam
, which mainly involve in building schools, safe water stations, rural roads and
medical equipment.-Enditem
