Yemeni-S. Korean talks on terrorist attacks

SANA'A, March 18 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi and
South Korean ambassador to Yemen Won-ho Kwak talked Wednesday on the
circumstances of the latest terrorist attack against a number of
South Koreans.

A suicide bomber attacked a convoy carrying S. Korean investigators
who had taken part in the investigations of the Monday attack that
killed four South Korean tourists and a Yemeni guide and injured six
others at a historic site in the historical city of Shibam of
Hadramout province.

The Korean diplomat briefed al-Qirbi on the technical support to be
provided by the Korean side to Yemen's security bodies for
strengthening means of combating the dangerous terrorist acts which
target Yemen's security and its diplomatic ties with South Korea.

For his part, al-Qirbi assured that the security bodies are carrying
out intensive investigations to unearth those behind those terrorist
acts, pointing out that Yemen would boost efforts to chase them and
hand them over to justice.

He stressed the significance of enhancing the cooperation between
the two friendly countries in the intelligence field related to the
fight against organized crime topped by terrorism.

A suicide bomber on Wednesday struck a convoy carrying South Korean
officials sent to Yemen to investigate a bombing earlier in the week
that killed four tourists from the country. No one was hurt,
officials said.
