AZERBAIJANI MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND ENERGY MEETS AUSTRIAN MINISTER FOR ECONOMICS, FAMILY AND YOUTH

Vienna, 18 March (AzerTAc). Visiting Austria, Azerbaijani Minister of Industry and Energy Natig Aliyev yesterday has met with Federal Minister for Economics, Family and Youth Reinhold Mitterlehner in Vienna.
Mitterlehner described the current state of bilateral relations as a high level.
Reminding President Ilham Aliyev`s speech at 26 January Nabucco summit in Budapest, Austrian Federal Minister praised Azerbaijani leader`s full support to the vital project for Europe.
He stressed that his country pins hope on Azerbaijan in terms of providing energy security of European Union, including Austria.
Natig Aliyev said Azerbaijan-Austria relationship is developing very successfully. The minister pointed out his country is keen on studying Austria`s experience in connection with oil production and renewable energy resources as the country possesses advanced technologies.
N. Aliyev also added that Austrian company OMV`s Baku office and Azerbaijan State Oil Company`s (SOCAR) Vienna representation make a great contribution to deepening of ties between the two countries.
He said oil-rich Azerbaijan is ready to actively participate in providing Erope`s energy security.
Touching upon the Nabucco project, N. Aliyev said his country is interested in realization of the project and able to provide the pipeline with gas. He also stressed that the European Union must demonstrate political will.
The meeting also discussed a variety of other pressing issues, including opening of Austria`s diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Vienna Fuad Ismayilov and director of SOCAR office in Austria Gulmirza Javadov were present at the meeting.
