HUSEYNOV STRENGTHENS HIS LEAD IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Budva, March 18 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani chess player Gadir Huseynov has strengthened his grip at the top of the European championship in Montenegro, after defeating Serbian Miodrag Savich in the tenth round.
Huseynov who has 7.5 points shares the lead with Russians Tomashevsky, Inarkiev, Grachov, Kobaliya, Ukrainian Fedorchuk, Dutch Sokolov and German Naydich.
Other Azeri chess player Rauf Mammadov drew with Bulgarian Ivan Cheparinov, increasing his points to 7. Eltaj Safarli, Faig Alasgarov and Vasif Durarbayli drew with Vladimir Potkin (Russia), Vuk Anich (Montenegro), Mikele Goden (Italy) respectively.
