MOSTI PLANS MOBILE CLIMATE FORECAST STATION
KUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Science, Technology and
Innovation (Mosti) will set up a mobile climate forecast station for scientists
to study natural disasters that hit Malaysia due to the global climate change.
Its Deputy Minister, Fadillah Yusof, said the station could also be used as
an early warning system.
"With the station, we can collect the data in an efficient manner and take
precautionary measures to mitigate the adverse impact of the climate change,"
he told reporters after officiating at the 14th Asia-Pacific Network for Global
Change Research (APN)/Inter-Governmental Science Planning Group (SPG) meeting
here Wednesday.
This year's APN/SPG meeting will focus on global warming and its impact on
Asia-Pacific.
