Japanese MP calls for expansion of ties between Iran, Japan

Tokyo, March 18, IRNA

Japanese head of Iran-Japan parliaments friendship group, by
referring to the good Tokyo-Tehran ties, called for expansion of
relations in all fields.

In a banquet on the occasion of 80th anniversary of establishment of
diplomatic relations between the two countries, Taro Nakayama said
establishment of parliamentary friendship group has created an
appropriate ground for promotion of relations.
He added the two countries are currently in a turning point in their
relations, so they have to use the opportunity in a good manner.
Referring to the developments in the Middle East region in recent
years, Nakayama said that Japan has always wanted peace and stability
in the region .
The Japanese MP said that Japan is among the main allies of the US and
also has very good relations with Iran, so it longs for improvement of
ties between the US and Iran.
He added President Barack Obama has spoken about direct talks with
Iran and Japan welcome this new policy.
Iran?s Ambassador Abbas Araqchi was the host of banquet and a number
of Japan parliament deputies were among the guests.
