REFERENDUM TO MAKE SUPPLEMENTS AND AMENDMENTS TO AZERBAIJAN`s CONSTITUTION STARTS IN TIME

Baku, March 18 (AzerTAc). Polling stations have opened at 8 a.m. local time on March 18 throughout Azerbaijan as the country`s citizens start casting ballots in a nationwide vote to make supplements and amendmnets to the Constitution.
More than 4.8 million people will vote in 5,367 polling stations in 125 constituencies across the country. The number of polling stations abroad is 35. The referendum is observed by 47,066 local and 172 foreign observers representing 24 organizations and 23 countries.
The voting is covered by foreign journalists, including 6 ones from Reuters, 3 from TRT, 2 from Agence France-Presse and EPA Agency each, and one from Anadolu Agency, BBC, Al Jazeera, Ihlas Haber Agency, Bloomberg and Le Figaro each.
Polling stations close at 7.00 p.m.
The Central Election Commission will issue five reports throughout the polling day to inform the public on the course of the voting.
In addition, 500 polling stations have been equipped with webcams to ensure the transparency during the vote, allowing internet users to watch the whole process online. The list of the webcam-equipped polling stations is available at the Central Election Commission`s websites.
