Government approves YR 500 million for fisheries investment

SANA'A, March, 17 (Saba)- The government approved YR 500 million
within investment program for 2009 to the Yemeni General Corporation
for Coastal Fishing and the General Corporation for Fishery Services
and Marketing.

In its regular meeting held on Tuesday, the cabinet approved
continuing the two corporations' activities after discussing
measures of curing their situations.

The cabinet agreed on draft by-law for traditional fishing presented
by minister of fishery wealth and directed completing law measures
needed for issuing the by-law.

The draft includes 53 items distributed on five chapters include
naming, definitions, aims and organizing traditional fishing. The
by- law aims at enacting controlling measures and regulations to
such kind of fishing.
