1,800,000 Foreign Pilgrims Entered Iraq To Perform The Arbaeen Visit

BAGHDAD / NINA / -The Border Crossings Authority announced that one million and 800 thousand foreign pilgrims entered Iraq to commemorate the Arbaeen visit to Imam Hussei .
"The majority of pilgrims are Iranians. And a memorandum of understanding between Iraq and Iran has been signed by the interior ministers of the two countries, which included all measures to facilitate the passage of pilgrims with smooth flow," Kadhim al-Aqabi, director of the Border Crossings Authority told a news conference.
He explained that "the airports of Baghdad and Basra and Najaf used to transport pilgrims by air, while about one million pilgrims entered Iraq through the port of Zurbatia, and from Shalamjp about 450 thousand, and from Alshib port about 220 thousand and the rest distributed to the rest of the ports.
He pointed out that "the price of a visa to Iraq amounted to 40 dollars."./ End
