Anti-Iran sanctions too blunt as rusted sword

Tehran, March 17, IRNA

Spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Hassan Qashqavi said on Tuesday
that sanctions imposed on Iran for its peaceful nuclear activities
were useless as ?a rusted sword.?

Qashqavi made the remarks at his weekly press conference while
commenting on the efforts to extend US sanctions against Iran as well
as the EU new draft resolution against the country.

?Sanctioning Iran is a dream which would no longer come true. A dream
which has only led to the sending of Iran?s Omid (Hope) satellite into
the orbit, going on stream of the South Pars projects, signing of a
multi-billion-dollar contract between Iran and China and reaching an
agreement between Iran and Russia for cooperating on energy,? Qashqavi
argued.

He stressed that West would end up in nowhere, if it still continued
sanctioning Iran.

?If they continue moving on the path of sanctioning Iran that will
have no effect on the country's peaceful nuclear program,? said the
spokesman.
