S Korean president urges expansion of ties with Iran

Beijing, March 17, IRNA

South Korean President Lee Myung-Bak on Tuesday voiced his country?s
readiness to further boost all-out ties with the Islamic Republic of
Iran.

In a meeting with Iran?s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi
Shahroudi, he said Seoul attaches great importance to its ties with
Tehran.

He lauded Iran's ancient civilization.

President Lee also announced his country?s interest to make investment
in Iran?s banking, oil and gas projects.

Ayatollah Shahroudi, for his part, referred to Tehran-Seoul bilateral
cooperation as good and growing.

He also called for further expansion of bilateral relations in all areas.

The Judiciary chief further welcomed investment of South Korean
companies in Iran?s various development projects.

Ayatollah Shahroudi, heading a delegation, arrived in Seoul on Monday
to discuss issues of mutual interest with senior South Korean officials.
