Yemen receives study on shifting outlets to land ports

SANA'A, March 15 (Saba) - Minister of Transport Khalid al-Wazir has
received the study on shifting the land outlets in Yemen to land
ports, which prepared by a Jordanian company.

During his meeting with Head of the Jordanian company's experts team
Abdullah al-Jabot, the Minister affirmed the significance of the
study which comes within the long-term ports development strategy
for the coming thirty years which is being prepared by an American
consulting company.

The Ministry will spare no efforts in promoting the level of land
transport services and means in collaboration will all concerned
bodies, pushing towards opening new land transport lines,
regularizing the current lines and controlling the visa tariffs as
well as putting an end for the high prices of transportation,
al-Wazir said.

He added the ministry has started the actual steps towards upgrading
some land outlets to become land ports which will be controlled by
the General Authority for Land Transport and encouraging the private
sector to invest in those areas in tourism and trade fields.
