Fish port worth $ 7.5 million to be established in Hudeida



SANA'A, March, 16 (Saba)- Minister of Fishery Wealth Mohamad Shamlan
discussed on Monday with the Head of Improving Port Cities Project
Ahmad Salem studies for establishing a new fishery port in Hudeida
with initial cost of US$ 7. 5 million.

The port, which will be carried out by the Yemeni port cities
project ( Aden, Mukalla and Hudeida) during the forthcoming months,
is composed of modern fishery port based on European specifications
for responding to needs and demands of fish sector and of investors
working in this field in Hudeida.

In the meeting, Shamlan affirmed importance of this project in
easing pressure faced by the current port due to great advent by
fishermen. He indicated importance of making use of initial study to
the project.

Meanwhile Assistant of Fishery Wealth Minister for fish planning and
project sector Abdul-Hadi al-Hakhader indicated that the ministry
has defined the suitable location for establishing the project in
the south of Hodeida governorate.

He added that the project covers all special components of project,
unloading fish, marketing, preparation laboratories, factories of
ice and other facilities needed for protecting fish.
