On the Palestinian front, the Cabinet expressed hopes that the
national Palestinian dialogue currently held in Cairo will speak to
the wishes of the Palestinian people and the Arab nation; reaching
reconciliation, surmounting all divisions, overcoming obstacles as
well as adopting the necessary criteria in order to crack down on
divisions.

Pertaining to the economic arena, the King placed emphasis on the
strength and capability of the Saudi economy to confront the current
international financial crisis and that it steadily pushes forward
with its investment programs and expenditure on development projects,
emphasizing the Kingdom's participation in the G20 finance ministers
meeting held Saturday in London.

The Minister then noted that the Cabinet reviewed a number of topics
on its agenda and issued the following decisions:

The Cabinet authorized the Chairman of the Board of Directors of King
Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives - or his deputy - to
discuss and sign a draft memorandum of understanding between King
Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives of the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia and the Gulf and Arab Peninsula Studies Center at Kuwait
University. He is also authorized to discuss and sign a draft
memorandum of understanding between King Abdulaziz Foundation for
Research and Archives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the National
Archive of Portugal.
