Norway Announces Upcoming Visit Of Its Prime Minister To Iraq

BAGHDAD (NINA) - Norway has announced an upcoming visit to its Prime Minister to Iraq in the next phase in the framework of developing relations between the two countries.
"Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari met Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide in the sideline of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and discussed the most important issues of mutual concern between the two countries, and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples. "
Jaafari praised the position of Norway, which supports Iraq in its war against terrorist gangs.
Jaafari said during the meeting: "We must intensify efforts to hold a meeting of the Iraqi-Norwegian Joint Committee because of their significant impact in the opening of new horizons for mutual cooperation, stressing the pursuit of exchange of experiences and activating common interests and common risks and the contribution of Norwegian companies in the reconstruction of Iraqi cities."
For her part, the Norwegian Foreign Minister affirmed "the continued support of her country to Iraq in various fields, pointing to the courage of Iraqis to eliminate the terrorist Daesh gangs and the high professionalism of the Iraqi armed forces."
She announced that "The Prime Minister of Norway will visit Iraq in the next phase in the framework of the development of relations between the two countries."/ End
