IFJ president in Yemen for Syndicate conference
SANA'A, March 13 (Saba) - President of the International Federation
of Journalists Jim Bumelha expressed Friday the readiness of the
federation to provide necessary support for the Yemeni Journalist
Syndicate to enable it to accomplish its duties well.
Arriving in the country to take part in the fourth syndicate
conference which will start Saturday in Sana'a, Bumelha said the
Yemeni Journalist Syndicate is one of the most efficient press
institutions in the Arab World.
The syndicate plays an important role in defending Yemeni
journalists and building up their capacity, he said.
We are here to listen to concerns of Yemeni journalists to be one of
the topics that will receive considerable attention from the
federation, he said.
The assistant secretary general of the Arab Federation of
Journalists Hatim Zakaria will also take part in the event.
Zakaria said hailed the efficiency of the syndicate pointing to its
interest in promoting professional skills of the Yemeni journalists.
