Yemen to partake in Int`l Contact Group on Piracy in Egypt

SANA'A, March 13 (Saba) - Yemen will participate in the 2nd meeting

of the International Contact Group and the meeting of the 4th

working group for coordinating diplomatic efforts to combat piracy

to be held in Cairo next Monday and Tuesday.



According to the weekly 26 September, Undersecretary of Foreign

Ministry Ali al-Ayashi will lead the Yemeni delegation to the

meetings.



The meetings called on by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry will review

the diplomatic efforts for the Contact Group' States, including

Yemen, to define the piracy phenomenon threats on the international

navigation security and the interests of the region's country.



Moreover, the meetings will deal with coordinating the regional

efforts to fight the hazards of piracy to protect ships passing

through the international routes, al-Ayashi said.



He said that he will review Yemen's efforts in fighting against

piracy since 2004, al-Ayashi said.
