CONSTRUCTION OF NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OF ULAANBAATAR CITY BEGINS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ During his official visit to Mongolia, Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi attended August 25 an opening ceremony of a project to build a new Wastewater Treatment Plant of Ulaanbaatar city, to be implemented with the soft loan worth USD300 million of the Government of China.
In the beginning of the ceremony, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh said, "I am grateful for the Government of China resolving investment project in a short term, as a result of mutual talks on co-implementing a project to build an international standard treatment plant with advanced technologies during the visit to China in April, 2018. It is launching today. By constructing the plant, it is expected to improve its quality and access, to secure environmental hygiene and safety as well as to make significant contribution to reduce air, soil and environmental pollution." "The construction opened a new chapter in strengthening and developing friendly ties of the two countries,” the PM pointed out.
Mr. Wang Yi said that the construction becomes one of indications of 70-years historical cooperation and mutual support of the two countries. We are pleased with our contribution to Mongolians to live in clean and safe environment and to protect environment.
The new treatment plant will be ecologocially efficient in water usage. Water purified by the new plant will be used in cooling of power plants of the city. The constructional work is expected to complete in 2020.
The latter's visit to Mongolia concluded on August 25.
