AFD grants Yemen € 1 mln for fishery projects in Yemen

SANA'A, March 11 (Saba) - The French Development Agency (Known as
Agence Française de Développement or AFD) allocated on Wednesday a
grant of € 1 million for supporting fishery infrastructure in Yemen.

The announcement has been made during a meeting held here gathered
Minister of Fisheries Wealth Shamlan and the AFD regional director
in Yemen Christian Flamount.

Shamlan has valued AFD's support to Yemen, pointing out that the
need of the fishery sector to more assistance in the infrastructure
field.

Flamount said that the grant is appropriated for establishing
service projects in the fishermen's villages and communities all
over the country's coastline.

The Ministry is to conduct the project-related studies and designs
paving the way to be implemented in cooperation with the AFD in the
coming years, Flamount said.
