Woman Supreme Council approves 2009 plan



SANA'A, March, 11 (Saba)- The Woman Supreme Council approved in its
meeting held on Wednesday and chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar
the plan of Woman National Committee for 2009.

The plan, which is based on enhancing woman in development process,
includes 59 projects distributed on 12 components aim totally at
enhancing efforts of woman's needs in economic, educational and
health policies. The plan also aims at asserting media's role in
serving woman issues, creating data base over gender issues and
working on improving legislative environment that enhance woman's
rights.

Furthermore, the plan aims at conducting studies over woman's real
situation in developmental fields and strengthening enlightenment
over her participation in development work.

The council also reviewed report over evaluating woman's strategy
for 2006-2008. The report focused on level of policies and
strategies which directed government efforts concerning woman.

The meeting approved having accuracy policy for knowing level of
development in including gender and building national capabilities
in this field. The council also reviewed level of achievement in
2008 plan.
