Iran keen on sports cooperation with Kuwait

Kuwait City, March 11, IRNA -- Secretary-General of Iran’s National Olympic Committee said on Tuesday night that Iran is willing to develop sports cooperation with Kuwait.

Bahram Afsharzadeh, who is in Kuwait City to attend the opening ceremony of the new Olympic Council of Asia’s headquarters, said he will confer with Kuwaiti officials on ways to foster cooperation in sports fields.

He is also due to invite Kuwait’s minister of labor, as Kuwaiti sports official, to take part in the second meeting of Asian sports ministers scheduled to be held in Tehran in May.

Afsharzadeh said Iran enjoys amicable relations with both Olympic Council of Asia and Kuwait.

He added Iran and Kuwait play key role in Asian sports./end
