Ahmadinejad officially introduced as ECO chairman
Tehran, March 11, IRNA – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received the rotating presidency of the Economic Cooperation Organization here on Wednesday.
The Iranian president was officially introduced as the chairman of the organization by Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, who handed over the presidency to his Iranian counterpart at the beginning of the 10th ECO Summit which kicked off here this morning.
ECO is an intergovernmental organization involving ten regional nations including
Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan./end
