Iran responds to 3 European countries on nuclear issue

United Nations, New York, March 11, IRNA – In a response to the US, Britain and France allegations, Iran said its nuclear activities are completely peaceful, a reality proved not only by existing facts but also by numerous reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

In a letter sent to the United Nations Security Council on Tuesday, it is said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran, as a responsible member of the IAEA, has had a full cooperation with the Agency and has provided it with thousands of person-day inspections of its atomic facilities and its cooperation has been beyond its legal commitments.”

The letter continues, “The full settlement of the 6 remaining issues on one hand, and the undertaking of Iran’s all nuclear activities under the IAEA’s regulations and inspections on the other hand, has made it quite clear that there is no ambiguity in Iran’s present and past activities and so, all allegations made by certain western countries, especially the US, Britain and France, are absolutely baseless.”

Elsewhere in the letter, its is said, “Tehran has always emphasized the importance of serious, meaningful and without precondition negotiations, and has taken important steps to prove that certain so called concerns raised by some countries are baseless.”

In Tuesday meeting of the United Nations Security Council in which the report of the Sanctions Committee was read, representatives of US, Britain and France claimed that Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA has not been sufficient and that Iran has not met the existing concerns on its nuclear activities./end
