FIRST 400 TOURISTS OF "TEA ROAD" PROGRAM ARRIVED IN MONGOLIA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mongolia-China-Russia international tourism program ‘Tea Road’ has been successfully launched with the first 400 tourists from China to Mongolia on July 27. The first tourists of the program were welcomed at Sukhbaatar Square by officials headed by Ts.Enkhtuvshin, Deputy Head of the Department of Tourism of the Capital City. Over the past two years, authorities of tourism sector of the People’s Republic of China visited Mongolia, paying attention to the country and as a result of it number of Chinese tourists come to Mongolia increased drastically. Mongolia plans to receive more than a million tourists from China in upcoming months within the program. Chinese tourists hold high purchasing power and I hope that it would have positive influence to the economy, Ts.Enkhtuvshin emphasized. One of the tourists shared her impression, "I have come to Mongolia for the first time. When I was traveling by train from Erenhot to Ulaanbaatar city, I admired Mongolian vast steppe and its beautiful nature. Mongolian cuisine is also very delicious." During the two day stay in Mongolia, the tourists will visit sightseeing places such as Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, Tsonjin Boldog and Aglag Buteel Monastery besides Ulaanbaatar city. At the Third Tourism Ministers Meeting of Mongolia, Russia and China hosted in Ulaanbaatar city on July 9, the parties discussed and put specific proposals on launching international tourism program ‘Tea Road’ and intensifying works to offer joint tourism products to tourists. Within this scope, Governments of the three countries are working on providing policy support to public and private tourism organizations.
