Ahmadinejad highlights importance of regional cooperation

Tehran, March 10, IRNA - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that expansion of relations and cooperation among regional countries amid current global developments is of prime importance.

President Ahmadinejad made the remark in a ceremony held to welcome Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari

Bullying powers try to transfer their problems to the countries of the region, he said adding that regional countries including Iran and Pakistan should adopt a unified stand and broaden mutual relations.

Referring to the deeply-rooted and friendly ties between the two nations, he said broadening of relations between the two countries will meet the two side’s interests.

Pakistani president, for his part, underlined that the bullying powers never admit to their mistakes and always put the blames on others to justify their mistakes.

World peoples have learned lessons from these mistakes and understand that violence and aggressions are no longer signs of superiority and cannot help resolve problems, said the Pakistani president.

Iran’s scientific achievements is a source of pride for the countries of the region, he said, adding that Islamabad calls for expansion of all-out relations with Tehran./end
