MONGOLIA TO HOST OFFICIAL EVENT OF WORLD HEPATITIS DAY

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Health D.Sarangerel yesterday received Dr.Shin Young-su, WHO Regional Director for the Western Pacific in connection with celebrating World Hepatitis Day (WHD) in Mongolia which falls every year on July 28. Minister D.Sarangerel expressed gratitude to WHO, community of the Western Pacific and WHO’s Representative Office in Mongolia for giving opportunity to Mongolia to host WHD's official event and promoting the national program ‘Whole-Liver Mongolia’ being implemented by the Government of Mongolia against hepatitis virus infection. In turn, Dr Shin Young-su emphasized that the WHO appreciates and backs Mongolia’s actions against hepatitis B and C virus infection, cirrhosis and liver cancer and expressed his confidence that WHD would be held effectively in collaboration with the Government of Mongolia.
