Expanding ties with Muslim states, Iran's priority: Rafsanjani

Tehran, March 9, IRNA – Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani stressed that expansion of cooperation with Muslim and Third World countries is a priority of Iran’s foreign policy.

In a meeting with visiting Speaker of Mali’s Parliament Dionconda Traore, he said the two countries are interested in further expansion of bilateral ties.

Briefing Traore on Iran’s stands on the resistance movement of the Palestinian nation, Rafsanjani said the two countries share identical views regarding the developments in the World of Islam.

Condemning the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq by Washington, he urged Muslim states to counter such policies through consolidation of unity and solidarity.

Lauding the participation of Iranian companies in various development projects in Mali, Traore praised the Islamic Republic’s powerful stands regarding the issue of Palestine./end
