Court to deliver sentence in Israel-linked cell case on March




SANA'A, March 09 (Saba) - Primary Penal Specialized Court is to deliver the sentence
in the case of three suspects of contacting with Israel on current March 23.

In the session chaired by Judge Muhsen Alwan on Monday, the prosecution asked the
court in its closing arguments to apply the lawful penalty against the accused.

In this case, the three suspected Yemenis are Bassam Abdullah Fadhel Mohammed
al-Haideri, Emad Ali Saad Hamoud al-Rimi and Ali Abdullah Mahfal, whose trial was
started last January 10, 2009.

The suspects were accused of illegal contact with a foreign country, communication
with Zionist entity's Prime Minister and publishing false statements by the name of
an organization called "Islamic Jihad", in addition to forging, fraud and cheating
accusations.

The cell was led by Emad Ali Saeed al-Rimi, known as "Abu al-Gaith al-Miqdad
al-Yamani". It has sent several threatening letters of targeting Arab and foreign
embassies in Yemen such as embassies of Britain, Saudi Arabia and United Arab
Emirates.

The cell has been arrested after a terrorist attack on the U.S. embassy on
Wednesday September 17, when a twin car bomb has rocked the US embassy in Sana'a
killing 16 people including seven of troops guarding the embassy and four civilians
and six attackers. The civilians included two Yemenis, an Indian women and a US
citizen from a Yemeni origin.

On the other hand, the court set the 2nd of coming May to deliver the sentence in
the case of Mosik cell.

The cell consists of four suspects, who are Tawfiq al-Faqih, Moudh Ali Ahmed
al-Zarid, Nabil Ahmed al-Saraji and Ismail Ali Hizam Ghorab.

The four-member cell accused of plotting to target security and foreign institutions.
