Deputy Premier receives Al-Bilad Board Chairman

Manama, July 15 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received today Board Chairman of Al-Bilad newspaper Abdul Nabi bin Abdullah Al Shola who introduced to him sport section Head Ahmed Karim and journalist at the local news section Alawi Al Musawi on the occasion of their winning the 3rd edition of Khalifa bin Salman Press Award in the journalistic investigation and opinion column categories. The Deputy Premier lauded the role of Al-Bilad newspaper in conveying social opinion professionally and credibly. He stressed the need for the press to be closer to the community and promote its constructive role in expressing citizens’ aspirations professionally, responsibly and credibly. He also praised the achievements of Al-Bilad newspaper at the local and regional level and its winning of many awards. He commended contribution of the newspaper’s staff to these accomplishments, wishing them further success. Al-Bilad Chairman extended heartfelt thanks and respect to the Deputy Premier for his continuous support to the press to assume its role as a free platform to express opnion, stressing that Al-Bilad will remain an active partner in preserving national achievements.
