Bishkek and Kabul discuss providing assistance to ethnic Kyrgyz living in Little and Big Pamir

Bishkek, July 6, 2018 / Kabar /. The issues of providing humanitarian assistance to ethnic Kyrgyz living in the Little and Big Pamir of Afghanistan were discussed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Abdrakhmanov and Ambassador of Afghanistan to the Kyrgyz Republic Mohammed Issa Mesbah. The sides discussed issues of cooperation, development of trade and economic relations, expansion of the legal framework, provision of humanitarian assistance to ethnic Kyrgyz in Afghanistan, including by signing an appropriate intergovernmental agreement. Abdrakhmanov thanked the intention of Afghanistan to send the national team to participate in the Third World Nomad Games, expressing the hope that Afghanistan will also be represented there at the high level at its official events. In conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to accelerate the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Afghan intergovernmental commission and intensify mutual visits at various levels. In total there are about two thousand people living in the Big and Little Pamir.
