Dubai, March 9, IRNA – The Bahraini Parliament speaker said on Monday that all issues have been settled and Manama has no problem with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Dhahrani made the remarks while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 15th Arab Interparliamentary Union being held in the Omani capital city of Muscat.
On the recent misunderstanding between the two countries, he said that during the visit to Tehran of the Bahraini foreign minister, the two sides discussed and settled the issue.
He added that he, himself, during his recent visit to Tehran, talked with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the matter.
Iranian officials stressed Bahrain's independence and repeated their respect towards the Bahraini government and nation, al-Dhahrani said, emphasizing that the recent misunderstanding had nothing to do with the Iranian government.
Manama attaches importance to expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said, underlining the need for observing mutual respect among regional states.
He expressed his satisfaction with the Tehran-Manama historical ties and called for further expansion of all-out relations between the two nations.
