PUIC concerned about arrest warrant against Sudanese president
Tehran, March 8, IRNA -- Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC), Mahmud Erol Kilic expressed concern on Sunday about the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the Sudanese president.
In the statement, the PUIC secretary general referred to resolution No. 12/11 CNCL adopted by the Eleventh Session of the PUIC Council in Niamey, Republic of Niger, on February 18-19, 2009, on allegations of the International Criminal Court against the Sudan.
The statement also invited member parliaments and all parliaments of OIC member states to request their respective governments to maintain solidarity with Sudan in defense of its sovereignty, security and stability in the face of the hostile stance of the ICC, and its prosecutor general as well as the forces instigating him./end
