Tehran condemns death of French human rights activist

Tehran, March 9, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi here on Sunday condemned the death of a French human rights activist in France.

"We have received a report on the death of one protester who was among human rights activist in France and would like to express our deep concern over the increase of violent behavior by French gendarmerie in suppressing popular demonstrations," Qashqavi said.

Hostile attitude which led to the death of a French human rights activist in French-administered Guadaloupe island while participating in a demonstration is regarded as an act of violence which violates human rights and is condemned by Iran, said the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman./end
