Lebanese Primer ends visit to Yemen
SANA'A, March 08 (Saba) - The Prime Minister of Lebanon Fouad
Siniora and an accompanied delegation left Sunday Sana'a after a
two-day official visit to the country.
During his visit, the Lebanese official met with President Ali
Abdullah Saleh who assured his country's keenness on developing the
cooperation relations with Lebanon, indicating the significance of
raising the trade exchanging volume between the two countries.
Siniora also co-chaired the Lebanese side in the Yemeni-Lebanese
Joint Higher Committee meetings which were held in Sana'a on March
07-08.
The Yemeni-Lebanese Joint Higher Committee signed on Sunday 11
agreements of joint cooperation including the establishment of a
supreme joint committee to be co-chaired by both countries' Prime
Ministers.
Saniora confirmed the importance of enhancing the cooperation ties
between the two countries, mentioning that the Yemeni-Lebanese talk
session has dealt with many issues, topped by the coming steps to
activate the investment, economic and trade cooperation.
He said that economic and commercial exchange between the two
countries is not more than US $ 15 million, although the two
countries' components that motivate widening the exchange fields.
The agreements included three protocols for cooperation in youth and
sport, tourism and commercial chambers, four executive programs in
areas of education, culture, social affairs and labor and technical
education and vocational training and two cooperation agreements in
judiciary and documentation in addition to an understanding
memorandum in wealth fisheries.
