Yemen, Japan sign grant agreement for Mahweet

SANA'A, March 07 (Saba) - Yemen and Japan signed here on Saturday a grant agreement
for Mahweet province under the Japanese scheme called "Grant Assistance for
Grass-roots Human Security Projects".

The grant aims to improve the activities of the Society for Care and Rehabilitation
of the Deaf and Dumb in Mahweet through buying buses and various sewing machines to
improve its members' abilities and skills.

The grant was signed by the Society's head in Mahweet Mohammad al-Shatibi and the
Japanese ambassador to Yemen Masakazu Toshikage.

It is worth to mention that Japan has funded several projects in Yemen during the
period April 2008 - March 2009 at a cost of $ 1,217,807 under the Japanese scheme.
