‘HOLDING REFERENDUM IN AZERBAIJAN DEMONSTRATES THAT THERE IS A SOUND DEMOCRACY IN
Baku, March 7 (AzerTAc). Holding a referendum in Azerbaijan on amendments and
supplements to the Constitution demonstrates that there is a sound democracy in the
country, said visiting member of PACE and UK parliament Mike Hancock.
According to him, Azerbaijan is a part of Europe. Hancock underlined Azerbaijan was
one of the leading CoE member states for promotion of democracy and protection of
human rights.
He also pointed out holding the referendum proves that Azerbaijan abides by the
principles and values of the Council of Europe.
