Over 28,000 foreign tourists visit Yazd during March 2008-2009
Yazd, March 7, IRNA -- Some 28,521 foreign tourists toured historical monuments and natural sites in Yazd province during March 2008-2009, announced head of the provincial Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Department here on Saturday.
Azizollah Seifi further told IRNA on Saturday that most of the visitors were from European countries including Germany, France, Spain and Italy as well as Asian states of China, Japan and Korea in addition to several African countries.
He added that some 202,615 Iranian tourists visited the province during the previous year.
Expressing readiness to host Iranian and foreign tourists during Norouz holidays, he added that facilities have already been prepared for receiving the visitors.
Yazd province has 40 hotels with 2,621 beds and receives the visitors with open arms, he concluded/end.
