Iran defeats Georgia makes way to World Wrestling Championship
Tehran, March 8, IRNA - - Iran’s free-style wrestling team outpowered Georgia 7 to 0 and made way to the final round of 2009 World Free-style Wrestling Championship.
Iran’s wrestlers Abbas Dabbaghi ( 55 kg) , Masoud Esmail-pour ( 60 kg) , Mehdi Taqavi ( 66 kg) , Sadeq Goudarzi (74 kg) , Reza Yazdani ( 84 kg) , Saeed Ebrahimi ( 96 kg) and Fardin Masoumi ( 120 kg) defeated their Georgian rivals and scored a 7-0 victory for the Iranian side.
According to the schedule, Iran’s wrestling team will face Azerbaijan Republic on Sunday afternoon at Azadi Stadium for the first and second rank, while Russian and Kazakhstan will compete for the third and fourth./end
