Tehran, March 7, IRNA – Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani arrived in Tehran from his Sudan visit Saturday morning.
Larijani traveled to Sudan on Thursday, leading a parliamentary-political delegation including a number of his counterparts from other Islamic states who had been participating in the Palestine Conference in Tehran.
Larijani’s visit to Sudan took place with the primary objective of voicing Iran's and Islamic countries' objection to the illogical ruling by the Hague Tribunal which has issued an arrest warrant for Sudan’s President Omar al-Bashir.
Participants in the Palestine Conference, which was held in Tehran March 3-4, believed the verdict by the International Criminal Court contradicted international laws. They arranged the trip to Sudan to voice their support to al-Bashir.
Larijani, who was accompanied by his counterparts from Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, yemen and Syria, met with the Sudanese president during his stay there.
On his way back to Tehran, he also had a short stop in Oman to meet with his counterpart there./end
