Sudan file at ICC aimed at deviation of justice process from surveying Israeli crimes – Larijani

Khartoum, March 7, IRNA – Islamic Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said here Friday putting forth Sudan’s file at International Criminal Court (ICC) is a plot aimed at deviation of justice from surveying Israeli crimes committed in Gaza and elsewhere.

According to IRNA parliamentary reporter, Larijani who is visiting Sudan atop a parliamentary delegation added Friday evening at a meeting with President Omar al-Bashir at his Presidential Palace, “Sudan is a top country in the Islamic world with an advanced status and a precise stand taking in confrontation with the racist strategies of the racist Zionists and the other oppressor powers.”

Referring to Sudan’s potentials for development, he said, ”The United States and the western countries are displeased with and worried about the rapid advancement pace in Sudan today.”

He reiterated, “We consider such behavior of big counties such as the United States and some European countries as new versions of adventurism in the region and regard them as new types of insult against the world Muslims.”

Larijani said, “Why do the Americans not take any steps regarding the horrendous crimes committed by the Zionist regime, including the massacre and genocide of Palestinians in various eras, particularly during the recent Gaza case?”

He added, “Why no move is made regarding the Abu Ghraib file, the Black Water file, and the files of 20,000 Iraqi inmates at American prisons and their sad fate?”

Larijani emphasized, “The court that has issued this phony verdict for the legitimate Sudanese president is itself illegitimate and this is merely a politically motivate decision adopted behind scene, aimed at deviating the Islamic world public attention from the serious Palestine issue.”

Pointing out that the members of his accompanying delegation are each an anti-colonialist activist affiliated to effective movements in the Middle East, he said, “We have come here to show the Western countries that we are by your side.”

Larijani said that his words are not merely diplomatic, but “uttered from the bottom of the hearts of every single one of us.”

Addressing President al-Bashir, he said, “We are sure the emerged problem would be solved relying on resistance spirit, which is fortunately quite high in Sudan and in your own good self.”

The International Criminal Court of the International Court of Justice at Hague last Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against the Sudanese President whose tenure is not over yet.

This is the first time in history that such a verdict is being issued by the international court against a legitimate statesman whose term of service has not been over./end
