President Saleh receives Turkish senior official

SANA'A, March 05 (Saba)-President Ali Abdullah Saleh received on
Thursday chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Koksal
Toptan who is currently visiting Yemen.

President Saleh discussed with the Turkish official aspects of the
mutual cooperation between two countries especially in parliamentary
field.

They also discussed regional and international developments of
common concern in the top of which are the Palestinian issue and
efforts of achieving Palestinian conciliation

The Turkish official briefed president Saleh on results of his talks
with the Yemeni officials and aspects of the mutual cooperation
between the Yemeni and Turkish parliaments, praising outcomes of the
president Saleh's visit to Turkey last year.

President Saleh affirmed importance of coordination between the two
countries over the Islamic issues to serve interests of the Islamic
nation, valuing position of Turkey to support Palestinian issue
especially during the recent Israel offensive against in Gaza.

He pointed out to the role of Turkey along with Syria and Egypt to
achieve the Palestinian conciliation, welcoming Turkish investments
in Yemen.

President Saleh asked the Turkish official to convey his regards to
his Turkish counterpart and prime minister, wishing them good health
and further progress and prosperity for the Turkish people.
