MINISTRY WILL REDUCE BAGGAGE RECLAMATION TIME AT AIRPORT
SEPANG, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- The waiting time to reclaim baggage at the Kuala
Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be reduced by between 15 and 30
minutes, said Transport Minister Ong Tee Keat.
Currently, he said, the waiting time was between 25 and 55 minutes.
"There is a need to change the system as there are complaints from
customers...moreover, the current system is already 10 years old," he told
reporters after a working visit to KLIA here Wednesday.
He said that over the past few months, studies were carried out as a result
of some complaints from customers over the duration of baggage reclamation.
"Although the number of complaints have decreased, we need to minimise the
waiting period for baggage reclamation," said Ong, adding that the ministry and
Malaysia Airports Berhad, the company managing Malaysia airports, would continue
to improve the time involved in reclaiming baggage.
