Yemeni-Turkish parliamentary talks held



SANA'A, March, 04 (Saba)-Yemen and Turkey held on Wednesday
parliamentarian talk session over historical friendship and
cooperation relations between the two countries in political,
economic, cultural and parliamentarian fields.

Co-chaired by Parliament Speaker Yahya Arrae'i and Turkish Grand
National Assembly Koksal Toptan, the talks affirmed boosting
different mutual profits and interests for realizing joint
aspiration of the two countries.

Arra'i said this visit of Turkish parliament delegation has
political, parliamentarian, economic and cultural dimension and
boosting historical relations between the two countries.

He reviewed investments fields in Yemen given that the country has
unique investment environment and a law granting facilitations and
investments to investor.He hoped that the visits would open wide
horizons for parliamentarian cooperation between the two countries.

He highlighted Turkish positive foreign policy towards Islamic
issues topped by Palestinian issue.

For his part, Toptan expressed his and the delegation's happiness
for visiting Yemen and meeting with Arrae'i. He considered president
Saleh's recent visit to Turkey has contributed in enhancing mutual
relations between the two countries.

He called for enhancing visits between Yemeni and Turkey officials
among, of them visits in field of parliamentarian field in the two
brotherly countries. He reviewed the components of the Turkish
National Grand Council and its duties and activities.

Then, the two parts signed additional protocol for promoting the
two countries' parliament councils. This protocol is based on the
past protocol signed between the two councils in October, 27, 1994.


The new protocol included organizing training and qualification
courses in field of legislations, diplomatic and foreign relations,
parliamentarian management, administrative and financial affairs and
exchanging visits between the two councils for acquainting
themselves with parliamentarian experiences.

The two parts affirmed importance of following up and carrying out
all the protocol's items for serving the interests of the two
countries and making use of their expertise in this field.
