GAVI supports Yemen with $ 14.8 mln to get vaccines



ROTTERDAM, March 03 (Saba)- The Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI)
has agreed to support Yemen with $ 14.8 million to get vaccines of pneumonitis
starting from coming year.

The decision was taken within the alliance's budget in agreement with the board
chairman of the vaccination at the alliance, minister of public health and
population Abdul-Kareem Rase said.

The Yemeni delegation- who is now participating in the meeting of the alliance's
council in Rotterdam city of Netherlands- presented in the meeting several
suggestions on behalf Middle East and North Africa region to develop program of the
alliance and importance of reducing direct interfere of the alliance in the national
health policies in the region.

The suggestions also include encouragement for producing vaccines by countries like
China and India to reduce cast of such vaccines and a call for enhancing the joint
work with alliance to face challenges resulted due to global financial crisis by
finding out a mechanism to support the developing countries to have vaccines.
