GOAM announces discovery of ancient settlements in Shabwa

SANA'A, March 03 (Saba)- General Organization for Antiquities and Museum (GOAM) has
announced discovery of ancient settlements and archeological cemeteries in different
regions of Shabwa governorate- east of Yemen - which dated back to prehistory era,
according to Mayonews.net.

The news website quoted director of GOAM office in the governorate and head of
exploration team Khairan al-Zabidi said that 29 archeological sites have been
discovered in Ataq, Jardan and al-Rawadah regions of Shabwa governorate

Al-Zabidi said that the discovery was happened during the first phase of
archeological survey and exploration on antiquities in these regions which lasted
for ten days.

The date of these sites dated back to the bronze and stone eras and the team of
exploration would resume its activities this month.
