Vietnam, Brazil boost exchange of animal, plant products
Buenos Aries (VNA) -The total turnover from the exchange of animal and plant
products between Vietnam and Brazil reached 318.4 million USD last year,
increasing nearly 45 percent over the 2007 figure.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply
(MAPA), the country exported 285.4 million USD worth of the products to Vietnam
, a-year-on-year increase of 43.6 percent.
Animal and plant products, mainly chicken by-product, timber, cowhide, tobacco,
soy bean, wheat and cotton, accounted for 85 percent of Brazil 's exports to
Vietnam last year.
At the same time, Vietnam exported to Brazil rubber, wooden products, fruits
and vegetables and bamboo products totalling 32.9 million USD, making up 16.5
percent of its export turnover to this South American country.
Vietnam currently ranks 44 th among importers of Brazil 's animal and plant
products and 35 th among exporters of these products to Brazil.-Enditem
